Details

This one-size-fits-all, baby doll-style cover-up dress is made by a Zanzibari woman using the Zanzibari Kanga (the original kanga shape included in the photos). It is thin and translucent, so it dries quickly—perfect for the beach and the pool! Its design consists of a button-down v-neck with buttons and pockets. It falls above the knee and is a bit longer in the back.

The dress includes a beautiful Swahili proverb to create "Dresses That Speak."

This dress is a versatile addition to your wardrobe, not just for the beach or pool. It can be worn over a tank top and pants, serving as a long shirt or a short dress, making it perfect for a variety of occasions.

For centuries, women in East Africa have wrapped two or more kangas around themselves as a way of style and nonverbal communication. We've modernized these beautiful kangas by transforming them into Western/European-style dresses.

Handmade, so it may come with imperfections.

First wash: wash by itself with cold water. Tumble dry low or hang dry.
The material softens with each wash.
